Tourist Visa

A tourist visa is issued for the purpose of travel and tourism, allowing the holder to visit a foreign country for leisure. The types of tourist visas vary based on the country and the duration or purpose of the visit. Below is a general list of tourist visa types. There are 8+ categories of tourist visas.

1. Single-entry Tourist Visa

  • Single-entry Tourist visa and it allows the visa holder to enter the country once and stay for a specific period.
  • Example: U.S. B-2 Visa for Tourism.

2. Multiple-entry Tourist Visa

  • Multiple-entry Tourist visa and it allows the visa holder to enter and exit the country multiple times within a specified period.
  • Example: Schengen Visa (multiple-entry) for European countries.

3. Short-term Tourist Visa

  • Short-term Tourist visa is for visits of a short duration, usually 30 to 90 days.
  • Example: Thailand Tourist Visa (60 days).

4. Long-term Tourist Visa

  • Long-term Tourist visa allows for an extended stay in the country, typically more than 90 days. France Long Stay Visa for Tourism (up to 1 year). Long Stay visa is a good type of visa for marketing and sales purposes as well.

5. Group Tourist Visa

  • Group Tourist visa is Issued for a group of travelers visiting together. China Group Tourist Visa is one good example.

6. e-Visa (Electronic Visa)

  • Electronic Visa i.e. e-Visa is a digital visa applied for online and granted electronically. India e-Tourist Visa is one good example.

7. Visa on Arrival (VOA)

  • Visa on Arrival (VOA) case allows tourists to obtain a visa upon arriving at the destination country. Indonesia Visa on Arrival for 30 days is one good example. As such, VOA i.e. Visa on Arrival applies to 27 countries out there across the globe.

8. Transit Visa

  • Transit Visa is for tourists passing through a country en route to another destination for example Dubai Transit Visa for 96 hours.

9. Medical Tourist Visa

  • Medical Tourist Visa allows tourists to enter a country for medical treatment. For example, India Medical Visa.

10. Religious Tourist Visa

  • Religious Tourist Visa is for individuals visiting religious sites or participating in religious activities. For example, Saudi Arabia Hajj or Umrah Visa.
